Description
This project centred on preserving and bringing attention to the declining practice of hand weaving in Latin America through editorial design and visual storytelling. Developed through research and conversations with artisans who continue to work within the trade, the publication explores the cultural importance of hand weaving alongside the challenges, motivations, and realities faced by the communities keeping the craft alive. Using self-produced illustrations and carefully considered typography, I created a visual language inspired by the tactile and handcrafted nature of the subject matter. The design approach aimed to give the publication an artisanal and authentic feel, reinforcing the themes of tradition, craftsmanship, and cultural preservation throughout the book
